Food
Discussions about the “right” food for a ferret is complex. There are many approaches: from the basic kibble-based, high protein diet to holistic diets to live prey-based diets. All have their advocates and detractors. Typically, ferrets in the United States are fed a high protein kibble because it is convenient and compliments the general American life-style. Also, farm raised ferrets in the US are almost all reared on kibble. No surprise, the breeding farm that also manufacturers a ferret diet insists their “warranty” is “void” if you feed something different, but you don’t need to restrict your ferret to one food.
