Fun & Humor

Let’s face it, ferrets are FUNNY. Sometimes their owners or the situations ferret owners get into are even funnier! Here we post some of the gems collected over time. We hope you will enjoy!

Decorating with Poop – Mira explains distinctions in poop patterns. Determine your ferret’s aesthetic style.

Holiday Decorating Warning – Caution with a humorous twist.

The Mink That Stopped Traffic – How even people in the know can be mistaken. This is one of many amusing instances of people mistaking mink for a ferret. Not only has FACT received calls insisting there is a “family of feral ferrets” living on their stream, but at one Massachusetts Ferret Frolic in South Hadley, many attendees ran around chasing a “ferret” someone thought they’d seen near the woods. Even experienced animal professionals – and ferret owners! – can get confused. Mink are close in size to domestic ferrets. But domestic ferrets NEVER come in that gorgeous, all-over sable brown color! Another hint? A domestic ferret will generally run to you, rather than away from you especially if it has been outside for more than a few minutes. Farm raised domestic ferrets have virtually no hunting instincts remaining and are usually hungry, thirsty, and view humans as their “source”!

New Product of the Month – what NOT to buy your ferret for Christmas!

You Know You’ve Been Rescuing too Long When… – symptoms of a longtime animal rescuer.
