Mira – Tributes
Many people took the time to send Mira and FACT notes of support. We wish we could include everyone’s comments. MANY THANKS to everyone touched by Mira and her story: Donors, supporters, and everyone responsible for her care.
I can’t explain the sorrow I felt when I opened my F.A.C.T. Ferret Poop newsletter. It was the attachment with the headline “Mira: June 1997 to June 18, 2003” that caught my eye. From the beginning, we all knew she was a fighter since she survived the torture she endured as a kit, determined that it was not her time to leave this world. I may not have ‘known’ Mira like those that took care of her day after day. I wasn’t there to see her bouncing around when she was excited. I didn’t get to see when she playfully nipped toes. I didn’t get to look into her beautiful eyes that expressed how much she loved life. I didn’t get to physically see her disabilities that she endured due to her previous cruel and ignorant owners. But with the heartwarming stories provided by the staff at F.A.C.T., I felt like Mira was one of my own little ‘fuzzbutts’. Thanks so much for providing me the opportunity to be a part of her precious little life. The impact she had on our lives will forever remain in the hearts of those involved with F.A.C.T.
Mira will never be forgotten…………………….

Dear Mira: Our State Farm insurance agent loves animals, too! He was thoughtful and hopes this helps to cover any medical costs. We all wish you well! Dian & Mike S. and State Farm agent Robert M.
Hello, we had a ferret show in Michigan on June 8th. I was a vendor there and put a jar on the table for Mira and collected $25. Ada G.
I’ve read Mira’s story and I wanted to cry! That is so sad! So I went and made copies and put them on billboards at various pet stores, hoping that other people like myself would contribute. My heart goes out to Mira. I send my best wishes to the fundraiser and hope everything turns out for the best. Crystal V.
Dear FACT: Bless you for taking care of little Mira. I wish I could give more to help. I have the same beliefs as you do when it comes to giving an animal a fighting chance. She sure has been a little fighter, hasn’t she? Good luck and God bless sweet little Mira! Crystal V.
The day I received the letter from you about Mira it really touched my heart. I have 3 ferrets myself…we adopted a male from you 9 years ago and that started a trend to only get ferrets that people don’t want. The story about Mira touched not only me but also the people I work with at .AMSA. I started a fundraiser for her at work and raised $110. Tammy V.
I just wish I could do more. Cheryl A.

I’m not sure if I would have pursued this treatment with one of my own ferrets, but I accept that you have given it due consideration. I truly hope Mira has a rapid recovery, and I can’t resist the appeal to help her. Good luck, Mira! Beth M.
Hi Mira! I can’t believe you’re 5 years old. I remember when your Mom got you. We are all sending prayers your way. Hugs! Linda S.
I’d like to make this donation in the name of my three ferrets, Indy, Rocky & Diver. All three are deeply missed. Melissa M.
