Canine Distemper Fund – Xavier A Ferret Abroad

Xavier – A Ferret Abroad is a non-profit, grant-making group headquartered on Facebook. The group came about as a result of a severe outbreak of Canine Distemper in the UK in Fall, 2011. Funds are raised by a variety of means – through donations, online auctions, and the sales of plush ferrets dressed by volunteers in the United States, Australia, and Europe.

The Ferret Association of Connecticut is the fiscal sponsor of the funds raised to ensure that donations made by US citizens many be considered tax-deductible to the extent allowed by US law. Further that all funds are held securely, properly allocated and reported.

The Xavier – Ferret Canine Distemper Group also maintains a separate website. On it is information about the group and it’s activities and the grants made to date. The group maintains a Facebook Community page as well as a Facebook group for supporters under the name Xavier A Ferret Abroad.

It is also supported by public donations. Please help us keep this crucial fund available to ferret shelters. The Ferret Association of Connecticut, Inc. is a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization. All donations are tax deductible to US citizens the extent allowed by law.
